Since the selection of his concept design as the one to take forward for the Shelley Memorial, sculptor Vincent Gray has been reviewing the feed back from the public consultation and other stakeholders and given some thought to the journey from concept to the final realisation of the design, in line with the suggestions made.

Included in the photograph of Vincent's maquette is a model of a child looking at the artwork, which gives a sense of the scale of the full-sized work. Vincent says of his design, "My approach to the Shelley Memorial Commission is to create an iconic monument which proudly reflects and celebrates the philosophies, beliefs and vision of Shelley as well as being intellectually engaging, and in harmony with the landscape and public realm.”
